How to Paint a Beautiful Watercolour Seascape

Always been amazed at watercolour paintings but never had the chance to learn how to do it yourself? You’re in luck! Hochanda (Home of Crafts, Hobbies and Arts) are here with this fantastic tutorial from the watercolour genius, Matthew Palmer. In this 10-minute masterclass, you will learn how to paint a watercolour seascape in just a few easy steps… you will be blown away by what you can achieve! Capturing the magic of the ocean and its horizon is something that always bewilders people, so impress your friends and family by learning to paint this seascape.

All you need are three colours (red, yellow and blue), two brushes (a size 10 and 6) and a sheet of watercolour paper. One thing that worries people about watercolour painting is the sketching, which Matthew understands as it is a different skill all together but reassures you that a huge amount of his teaching (this tutorial included) does not require any sketching at all! You will be proud to create a scene and watch it slowly develop.

To break it down, you will first be shown how to paint your skyline, then cliffs before the final step of the sea. When watching this video tutorial, make sure paint along with Matthew, it’s not essential but certainly feels more like you’re in classroom with him!
